NFL Draft Grades: Los Angeles Chargers

Tom Telesco, Dean Spanos, Anthony Lynn and the Chargers’ front office went in to the 207 NFL Draft in Philadelphia with two key objectives in mind. The first, and the easiest to digest is the need to beef up a roster that has a decent sprinkling of legitimate talent with a strong offensive line and provide some more weapons to ageing ball-slinger Philip Rivers.
The second requirement, and far less tangible an objective was to set about building the buzz and hype which is a genuine requirement for a new team moving in to the crowded Los Angeles sports market.

2017 NFL Draft: Breaking Down the Chargers Pick of Forrest Lamp

The newly-christened Los Angeles Chargers came in to the 2017 Draft with a need to upgrade their offensive line and protect their biggest and best asset, veteran quarterback Philip Rivers and their second move of the draft, off the back of selecting WR Mike Williams, sees that hole begin to be covered. Rivers will be happy for the extra protection, and the move also ensures Williams, along with existing receivers like Keenan Allen should have more time to weave their magic downfield.
Tom Telesco needs a big draft to secure some support in their new hometown and Lamp, while not a flashy name, adds much-needed support alongside new faces like Russell Okung and young lineman like Spencer Pulley and Max Tuerk.
